The Manawa Police Department say a lock down at Little Wolf Jr./Sr. High School on Tuesday was prompted by a threatening message that was left in the School’s bathroom.
The lockdown kept all students secured within classrooms as police and school officials investigated. Students were escorted from onto buses at the end of the school day.
“For the safety and wellbeing of all, staff and students were secured within classrooms until an assessment could be made,” Manawa Police Chief Jim Gorman said in a press release. “No one was harmed or injured.”
Gorman said that there are no active threats.
Police say there was only one individual involved who acted alone. That person has been referred to the Waupaca County District Attorney’s Office for possible charges.
This mirrors a similar incident from December 11th when a lockdown at Little Wolf was caused by a threatening message that was also found in the school’s bathroom.
“There are no current dangers or active threats to the school district or community,” Gorman added.
