Shawano Police Chief Dan Mauel says charges will be referred to the district attorney’s office for the suspects from Saturday’s shooting that sent a woman to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Mauel says that two men–a 20-year-old and 22-year-old who are both from Denver, CO–were arrested on early Saturday afternoon outside a residence in the Middle Village area of the Menominee Indian Reservation.
The 20-year-old is being held at the Shawano County Jail on a felony warrant out of Colorado. The 22-year-old was transported to the Menominee Tribal Jail where he is being held on several felony warrants from Colorado, as well as a Menominee Tribal Warrant.
Mauel says the firearm that was used in the shooting has been recovered.
The 31-year-old woman who was shot at just after 3:30 am on Saturday was taken to ThedaCare Medical Center in Shawano. Police say she is still hospitalized and is expected to recover.
