Authorities have identified a 19-year-old man who died in what may have been a possible accidental overdose on Tuesday.
Clintonville Police Chief James Beggs says the police department assisted the Clintonville Area Ambulance Service after they were dispatched to the residence of Damien E. Jones, after a call that he was barely breathing and cold to the touch.
Responders found Jones at his residence on North Main Street. He was totally unresponsive and CPR was immediately performed by both members of the ambulance and police officers. After learning that Jones may have accidentally overdosed on “some type” of drug, Narcan was also administered.
Beggs says that after the life-saving measures produced no desired results, Jones was pronounced dead.
The Waupaca County Coroner’s office was notified and concluded that an autopsy was necessary. The autopsy was conducted at the medical examiner’s office in Fond Du Lac. The police department is waiting for the results from the autopsy.
