Two Shawano men were sentenced to federal prison time today for buying guns on behalf of others who legally couldn’t.
29-year-old Jesus Zepeda was sentenced to a year and a day in prison followed by two years on supervised release while twenty-four year old Gary W. Hancock was given one year and three months with three years on supervised release.
They were convicted of buying three guns from dealers in the Green Bay area in 2014 and making false statements on background checks forms to do so. Two of the guns were discovered by Border patrol agents in 2015 in a vehicle going from the U.S. to Mexico. The third gun was found during a drug related rain in California that same year.
