The latest numbers on the jobless rate for our area look pretty good. The Department of Workforce Development says the unemployment rate in Shawano County fell to 2.8 percent for September . That’s a decline of 3 tenths of a percent. Our neighbors in Langlade County posted a remarkable improvement, falling a full percentage point to 3.6 percent in September, a near record low. Menominee’s rate dropped 2.3 percent, to 5.2 percent.
