The growing season will finally end Tuesday morning in much of northwest Wisconsin. The National Weather Service has issued a freeze warning from late tonight (Monday) until nine a-m Tuesday as far south as Rice Lake and Barron. Forecasters expect overnight lows to dip into the 20s, with widespread frost predicted in the northwest, and officials say sensitive outdoor plants could die if they’re left uncovered. A warmer than normal fall continues in the rest of Wisconsin, with lows predicted in the 40’s overnight from Green Bay southward — and Milwaukee expects rain tonight (Monday) with mild lows in the mid 50s.
