Some quick thinking and good decision making by a dispatcher has led to a successful birth in the Shawano County. Ethan Schmidt was named Employee of the Month by the Shawano County Sheriff’s Department for helping deliver a baby over the phone, according to Shawano County Sheriff Adam Bieber. Schmidt provided instructions over the phone, and calmly assisted the family until the baby was delivered. Schmidt is scheduled to meet the family this afternoon.
