Bonduel Village Board member Margie Qualheim has submitted her resignation from the board. Qualheim joins Joan Kamps and Mary Barney, who all resigned after being accused of causing a disharmony on the board. All three were mentioned in a resignation letter by Deputy Clerk Treasurer Katrina Schroeder and a retirement letter by Police Chief Todd Chaney, as the reason they stepped down. They stated that statements made by the three have been disrespectful and unprofessional, and has created an environment that they did not want to work in any longer. The Village Board quickly filled the three open seats on Monday, as they had just enough to even run a meeting. Village President recommended, Gina Shatters, Barbara Wickman and Kevin Bartlett to fill the vacant seats, which was approved on a unanimous vote. The three signed their oath. In a statement made on the WTCH Facebook page, Gina Shatters said
“I can only stand by my word and be the change I see fit for our village. I am willing to listen and offer suggestions to better the community as a whole. I look forward to this appointment and will always strive to do my very best.”
Village President Sharon Wussow said during the meeting that she had a total of five interested applicants. Village Trustee Luka Zishcka commented that he felt it was important to fill the seats as soon as possible, since they only have four board members and need four to run a meeting.
