Keep kids safe around fireworks this July Fourth
Tod Pritchard with Wisconsin Emergency Management says the best way to do that is to attend your local community fireworks show.
“If you absolutely want to shoot off fireworks, make sure this kids are not the ones lighting off the fireworks” said Pritchard. “It should be the adults”.
And even the lowly sparkler can pose a hazard for young children.
“Sparklers seem innocent, but they can burn kids really easy” Pritchard said. “When they are lit, when they are not the ground, they are still burning hot.”
And a reminder that household pets and fireworks don’t mix, keep you dog or cat inside.
