Local Seniors End High School Basketball Career In Wisconsin Dells
The 2017 Senior All-Star Basketball weekend was held at Just a Game Field house in Wisconsin Dells. Seniors got the chance to represent their division in the All-Star Game.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
D1- North 83, South 56
Sammy Buerger of Oshkosh North led the North with 19 points and went 3 for 3 from behind the arc. De Pere’s Lizzy Miller scored 13 in the win.
D2- North 65, South 46
New London’s Leah Porath was the teams leading scorer with 18 points, closing out her successful career in New London. Victoria Nowak of Waupaca scored 6 and Liz Edinger of West De Pere scored 2 points.
D3- North 70, South 66
Wrightstown Alisha Murphy and Little Chute’s Tess Keyzers both scored 13 points to help the North to a win.
D4-South 86, North 62
Iola-Scandinavia’s Leighton Fischer scored 13 points, but it was not enough as the North fell to the South.
D5-South 78, North 69
BOYS BASKETBALL
D1- North 109, South 85
Will Chevalier of Kimberly helped pace the North to a win by scoring 20 points. The North took a big lead early and never looked back.
D2- North 107, South 96
Hotonville’s Matt Hintz helped coach the North to a 107-96 win over the South. La Crosse Central’s Kobe King ended his High School career on a strong note. The future Badger scored 29 points and had 10 rebounds.
D3- South 111, North 87
Charlie Jadin of Freedom scored 9 points and Tyler Petermann of Clintonville scored a bucket for the North.
D4- South 83, North 73
The South went on a fourth quarter run to get by the North by 10. Shiocton’s Nathan Schmidt scored 13 points to lead the North in scoring.
D5- South 102, North 96
The South held off the North for a 102-96 win in Division 5. Gresham Coach Jeff Zobeck helped coach the North team.
