Ten players were selected to compete in the WIAA Boys 3-point Challenge at the Kolh Center in Madison on Saturday morning, and Gresham’s Neal Cerveny put on a strong showing.
Cerveny was one of four players to advance to the semi-final round, after knocking down 16 in the first round to advance.
In the semi-final round, Cerveny hit 15, but came up short of the finals. Austin Martin of Random Lake went on to take home the crown.
Other area athletes that competed were Eric Carl of Kaukauna and Bryce TeKulve of Luxemburg-Casco. TeKulve also advanced after posting a 21 in the opening round, but came up short by one, with a 17 in the semi-finals. Eric Carl finished the first round with a 12.
Participants were chosen based on the top two 3-point shooters from each division (min. 75 attempts).
