SHAWANO, WI – The Shawano Police Department’s summer community outreach efforts continued with a Touch-A-Truck event at Walmart on Monday, giving families an opportunity to explore a variety of vehicles while supporting a worthy cause.

The event, which benefits Children’s Miracle Network, is scheduled to run from 3 to 6 p.m. and will feature emergency vehicles, work trucks and other equipment that children and families can view up close.
Shawano Police Officer Brandi Hoffman encouraged residents to stop by and support the event.

“We have a Touch a Truck event for the Children’s Miracle Network,” Hoffman said.
The Touch-A-Truck event is part of a busy summer schedule for the Shawano Police Department as officers continue building relationships with community members through family-friendly programs and outreach opportunities.
Hoffman said residents can also look forward to additional Lunch in the Park events, National Night Out, Cone With A Cop and several other activities planned throughout the summer months.

The department’s community policing initiatives are designed to give residents an opportunity to interact with officers in a relaxed setting while strengthening trust and communication throughout the community.
Officials encourage families to stop by Walmart this afternoon, support Children’s Miracle Network and take advantage of the opportunity to learn more about the vehicles and people who help serve the Shawano area.
