SHAWANO, WI – A longtime local favorite is now drawing international recognition, as Twig’s Beverage was recently featured in a BBC article, putting the Shawano-based company on a global stage.
Vice President Ben Hartwig says the attention came as a complete surprise, but one the company is incredibly proud of. “It was huge,” Hartwig said. “We’ll do some small promotional stuff and people in the community will say they heard you on the radio or saw you on the news. But with this, we’re getting people we know in different countries saying they saw us in the article. It’s really cool to see that reach go overseas.”
Hartwig says the global exposure has been both humbling and exciting, with reactions pouring in from across the world. He noted that social media has played a role as well, with people sharing that friends and relatives in other countries had come across the story. “It’s kind of neat to see that worldwide reach coming back to the Shawano community,” he added.
With the increased attention, Hartwig says the company is focused on continued growth. “Our hope is to just keep growing our Twig’s reach,” he said, noting that while products like Sun Drop come with territorial limits, Twig’s own products offer more flexibility. He pointed out that Twig’s is already available in places like New Jersey, Oklahoma, and Ohio, and the added exposure could lead to even more opportunities.
Hartwig also highlighted the company’s co-packing capabilities as another area for potential expansion, allowing other businesses to partner with Twig’s to produce their own beverages. He says none of the recent success would be possible without the support of the community and the company’s staff. “We love the Shawano community and our loyal customers,” Hartwig said. “And we wouldn’t be able to do what we do without our staff, they’re a huge part of everything we’ve accomplished.”
