Police Activity reported by local law enforcement
SHAWANO COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT
The Shawano Police Department responded to a wide range of calls throughout Sunday and early Monday.
Early Sunday morning, officers were called to Engel Drive for a vehicle in a ditch, which led to an OWI investigation that lasted into the early morning hours. Shortly after, deputies handled a civil matter involving a vehicle dispute in which a complainant reported an ex-boyfriend had taken a car that was later located in Bowler.
Later in the morning, officers responded to a burglary alarm at the Walmart automotive center, checking the building after keyholders could not initially be reached. Around midday, deputies assisted with a disabled vehicle near Qualheim’s True Value after a passerby reported a pickup parked on the wrong side of the road with hazard lights on.
In the afternoon, officers responded to a shoplifting complaint at Charlie’s County Market after a woman reportedly left the store with meat concealed in a backpack. Officers located the suspect nearby and the incident remains under investigation.
The evening hours brought several animal-related calls, including reports of an aggressive raccoon charging at residents on East Stevens Street and a stray beagle seen running loose near South Lafayette and West Picnic streets.
Officers also assisted other law enforcement agencies with a report of two women fighting outside a dialysis center, conducted multiple welfare checks involving individuals posting concerning messages, and handled a repossession notice.
Late Sunday night into early Monday, officers responded to a disturbance at an apartment on Aspen Court, performed extra patrol at a gas station after a door was found unlocked, and took a report of a stolen vehicle at Waukechon Road and East Lieg Avenue. Authorities say all incidents remain under investigation.

he Shawano County Sheriff’s Office responded to more than 20 incidents across the county Sunday.
The day began just after 1 a.m. with a minor traffic accident in the parking area at Ho-Chunk Casino, where a vehicle had been backed into. Around 6 a.m., deputies responded to a crash on County Highway C near Pulaski after a vehicle went into the ditch and was partially blocking the roadway.
Throughout the morning, deputies handled a traffic hazard involving a vehicle stopped in the roadway with fogged windows, assisted Oconto County authorities after a vehicle pursuit reached the county line at speeds near 100 miles per hour, and investigated an abandoned 911 call that went straight to voicemail when deputies attempted a callback.
Residents also requested extra patrols in several neighborhoods due to ongoing speeding concerns. Deputies conducted a VIN inspection in Tigerton and responded to multiple traffic hazards, including a stroller and bicycle reported in the roadway along Highway 29.
During the evening hours, deputies made an arrest following an operating-after-revocation and absolute sobriety violation. They also responded to domestic disturbance calls in Bowler and Bonduel and assisted with a fight in progress involving two women outside a residence.
Deputies conducted a welfare check after a young child reported being frightened by adults who had been drinking, and they also handled a juvenile runaway report from Homme Home in Wittenberg.
Additional calls included assisting Pulaski Police with a domestic situation involving a reportedly intoxicated man who damaged a door while children were inside the home, responding to a burglary alarm at a Dollar General store, investigating another crash in Krakow, and helping a motorist with a disabled vehicle late Sunday night.
CLINTONVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT
Clintonville Police stayed busy throughout Sunday responding to a variety of calls across the city.
Officers conducted a tavern check shortly before 1 a.m. and made several traffic stops throughout the day and night, including stops on Main Street and Highway 45. Morning patrol included extra patrol requests in neighborhoods on Anne and Rohrer Streets.
Police checked an open door at a business on Industrial Avenue, responded to a storm-related call on West Street, and handled a motor vehicle crash at North 12th Street and Green Tree Road. Officers also assisted at a fire on Robert Street and provided mutual aid during two separate calls in the afternoon.
During the evening hours, police responded to a missing person report on Hudson Road, assisted an ambulance call on Wilson Street, and answered a 911 call on Brix Street.
