NEW LONDON, WI- A 3-year-old child reported missing early Sunday morning near New London Middle School has passed away, according to the New London Police Department.
Authorities say officers were called at 4:58 a.m. on April 13, 2026, to reports of a missing child in the area, prompting a large-scale search involving multiple agencies.
The child was located at approximately 7:17 a.m. in the Wolf River. Emergency responders transported him to ThedaCare–New London, though his condition at the time was not immediately released.
At 11:16 a.m., the New London Police Department confirmed the child had passed away.
Officials expressed gratitude to the numerous agencies that assisted in the search and are asking the public to respect the family’s privacy during this difficult time.
