NEW LONDON, WI – The City of New London is preparing for its annual spring yard waste pickup, set to run from April 13th through May 1st, as crews assist residents with seasonal cleanup efforts.
City officials say only yard waste and branches will be collected during this period, and materials must be properly separated before pickup. Loose leaves should be placed directly in the street along the curb line without bags or boxes, while brush must be cut into lengths between four and six feet and placed behind the curb perpendicular to the roadway.
Pickup will follow a structured weekly schedule based on location throughout the city. On Mondays, crews will collect from properties south of the Wolf River between Wyman Street and Division Street, while Tuesday routes will cover areas south of the river and east of Division Street. Wednesday collection will include properties south of the river and west of Wyman Street, with Thursday pickup designated for all areas north of the Wolf River up to Spurr Road.
Officials are reminding residents that following the outlined guidelines is essential to ensure a smooth and efficient collection process. Proper placement and preparation of materials will help crews move quickly through neighborhoods and avoid delays.
City leaders say the annual program is an important service that helps keep neighborhoods clean and supports community-wide spring maintenance efforts.
