NORTHEAST WISCONSIN – Easter celebrations across the area are getting a second chance this weekend after recent ice storms forced the postponement of several popular community egg hunts.
Organizers say safety concerns from the storms led to the difficult decision to cancel events, but efforts were quickly made to reschedule so families wouldn’t miss out on the tradition. In Clintonville, the annual Easter egg hunt, canceled for the first time in nearly 40 years, has now been moved to tomorrow, April 11th, with updated start times for different age groups.
Despite the delay, families can still expect a full lineup of activities, including egg hunts, prize giveaways featuring bikes, trikes, and scooters, along with entertainment like face painting and balloon art. Event organizers say the goal is to preserve the fun and community spirit that has made the event a longtime favorite.
In Shawano, Park and Recreation officials have also rescheduled their annual egg hunt for Saturday, April 11th at Kuckuk Park. The event will begin at 10 a.m. sharp, with families encouraged to arrive about 10 minutes early to ensure children are ready for the start.
The Shawano hunt is recommended for children ages 3 to 12 and will include opportunities to meet the Easter Bunny, search for eggs, and win prizes. Officials in both communities say they’re excited to still bring families together and are hopeful for better weather as the rescheduled events take place.
