Shawano Police handled a wide range of calls throughout the day yesterday, including medical emergencies, arrests, and disturbances. Officers were dispatched early in the morning to West 2nd Street to assist an ambulance for a medical call involving a family member in need of help. That incident was cleared within the hour.
Later in the morning, police made an arrest on a warrant near Engel Drive and Industrial Drive. Authorities say the individual was taken into custody without incident.
Officers also responded to a reported shoplifting case at a retail store on East Green Bay Street, where documentation was collected for further investigation.
Throughout the day, several calls involved schools, including a truancy complaint at Shawano Community High School and a welfare check at Hillcrest Primary School.
In the afternoon, officers conducted a welfare check after reports of a person sitting in a vehicle stopped in the roadway with concerning behavior.
Police also assisted Brown County authorities in Pulaski with a domestic disturbance involving a reportedly violent suspect.
The day ended with a disturbance call on Engel Drive, where a man allegedly forced entry into a residence during a family dispute. No serious injuries were reported.
Clintonville Police were busy during the early morning hours, officers conducted multiple business checks along South and North Main Street, ensuring properties were secure overnight. Extra patrols were also logged around 9th, Anne, and Rohrer Streets.
Later in the morning, police handled a parking enforcement issue on South Clinton Avenue.
In the afternoon, officers responded to a report of a worthless check on South Main Street and conducted radar enforcement on 7th Street. An animal bite was reported on Garfield Avenue, and a traffic stop took place at Pershing and 7th Streets.
Police also investigated a suspicious situation on West Street.
As the day continued, officers responded to two separate 911 calls on South Main Street—one in the afternoon and another in the evening—along with a suspicious complaint on North 12th Street.
The day concluded with a property damage report on South Clinton Avenue.
The Shawano County Sheriff’s Office responded to a wide range of incidents across the county on Wednesday, including emergencies, traffic concerns, and criminal activity.
Just after midnight, a man turned himself in at the Shawano County Jail on an outstanding warrant and was taken into custody without incident.
In Bowler, deputies responded to an early morning 911 call that turned out to be an accidental dial, while a short time later, a traffic hazard involving an injured deer along Highway 45 near Birnamwood was reported and cleared.
Throughout the morning, deputies handled several welfare checks, including one in Cecil where a confused driver was found at a gas pump after traveling from out of the area. Another welfare check was requested after a worker failed to report to a new job.
Reckless driving complaints were reported in the Pulaski area, including one involving a pickup truck traveling at high speeds. Deputies also investigated a threatening incident in Bonduel.
Fire crews were assisted multiple times during the day, including a possible propane leak in Wittenberg and a grass fire in Tigerton.
Traffic hazards remained a concern, with debris reported on Highway 29 and other roadways, while a deer-related crash was reported near Aniwa in the late afternoon.
Authorities also responded to harassment complaints, civil disputes, and a disturbance in Eland.
In the evening, deputies were called to North Star Casino for a disorderly conduct incident involving a subject reportedly throwing items and arguing.
The day concluded with a reported assault inside the Shawano County Jail, where one inmate allegedly struck another and charges are being considered.
