Shawano Police responded to a steady stream of calls for service, handling incidents ranging from disturbances and shoplifting to multiple 911 calls. Officers were dispatched just after midnight to an abandoned 911 call on Military Road. A short time later, police responded to a disturbance at an apartment on Aspen Court.
During the early morning hours, officers assisted with another law enforcement agency following a traffic stop near Franklin Street and Third Street.
As the day progressed, police investigated a reported shoplifting incident at Walmart, where a suspect was taken into custody, and responded to a restraining order violation involving allegations of harassment through social media.
Officers also handled several service calls, including vehicle lockouts at local businesses, a traffic hazard caused by debris in the roadway, and reports of loose dogs near Shawano Middle School.
Multiple 911 hang-up calls were investigated throughout the afternoon, including one at Hillcrest Primary School.
In the evening, police were called to a disturbance on Richmond Street involving a couple reportedly arguing in public and later assisted with a disabled vehicle blocking traffic near Airport Drive and Green Bay Street.
Clintonville Police handled a variety of calls for service with activity ranging from traffic enforcement to public assistance and suspicious activity complaints. Officers conducted multiple traffic stops across the city, including along Highway 45, Morning Glory Drive, and several intersections on Main Street, as part of ongoing patrol efforts to keep roadways safe.
Police also assisted residents with several non-emergency calls. That included citizen assists on Modoc Street and South Clinton Avenue, as well as helping a driver locked out of their vehicle on Robert Street late in the morning.
During the early morning hours, officers provided mutual aid on County Highway D, while later in the day they responded to a utility-related issue on South Main Street.
Extra patrols were conducted in several neighborhoods, including 9th Street, Anne Street, and Rohrer Street, as officers maintained a visible presence in the community.
Emergency services were called to 20th Street for an ambulance request in the early evening.
Police also investigated two separate suspicious activity complaints, one on South Clinton Avenue and another on North Main Street later that night.
Shawano County authorities responded to a wide range of incidents over the past 24 hours, including multiple drunk driving arrests, a domestic disturbance, and several emergency calls.
The day began just after midnight with an abandoned 911 call traced to a tower location in Shawano. Deputies determined it was an accidental dial. Less than an hour later, however, a more serious situation unfolded. A Clintonville man was arrested for operating while intoxicated near Highway 22 and Friendship Road. That marked the first of two OWI arrests overnight, with a second driver taken into custody just after 2:30 a.m. near North Franklin Street and West Third Street in the city of Shawano.
Deputies were also called out for a canine assist around 3:15 a.m., tied to an earlier investigation, and later picked up an individual on a warrant out of Brown County.
As the morning commute began, crews responded to a vehicle-versus-deer crash at Highway 55 and 156 near Pulaski. No injuries were reported, though the vehicle sustained damage.
Throughout the day, law enforcement handled a variety of calls, including a fraud complaint in Cecil, a report of reckless driving involving two reportedly intoxicated individuals leaving a business, and an animal complaint involving a loose three-legged dog in Shawano.
In Wittenberg, deputies assisted with a juvenile runaway report, while in Bowler, a domestic disturbance led to an arrest late in the evening.
Other calls included a restraining order violation, criminal damage to property in Shiocton, a welfare check in Gresham involving a woman walking along the road in pajamas, and a medical emergency at a hotel where a person was reported unconscious.
Fire crews were also busy, responding to an alarm on River Bend Road that was later determined to be a small fire contained on scene.
In total, the Shawano County Sheriff’s Office handled 28 incidents during the reporting period. The Stockbridge-Munsee Police Department reported two additional calls, including a fraud complaint and a fire assist in Gresham.
