SHAWANO, WI – The Shawano Area United Way is celebrating another strong year of giving, with increased funding supporting programs across the region.
Executive Director Uriah Williams says this year marked the organization’s best allocation total since 2020. “It’s our best year on record since 2020 for allocations, we beat last year by a thousand dollars,” Williams said.
In total, $42,000 was awarded to 14 organizations serving Shawano and Menominee counties. Williams says each group selected demonstrated a clear ability to make a meaningful impact in the community. “They need to be doing work that are impacting our citizens in the areas of health, education, and then income or as we say financial stability,” he said.
Beyond funding, Williams says community involvement continues to grow through volunteer opportunities. He points to the Volunteer Hub on the Shawano Country Chamber website, which now connects residents with 17 organizations offering ways to get involved.
United Way leaders say both financial support and volunteer engagement remain key to strengthening local communities moving forward.
