Shawano Spring Cleanup Set for April

SHAWANO, WI – With snow melting and spring conditions settling in, the City of Shawano is preparing for its annual spring cleanup, set to run from April 6th through April 17th.
City Clerk Lesley Nemetz says the cleanup period gives residents an opportunity to clear out leftover yard debris after the winter months. “Spring cleanup is coming up April 6th through the 17th and the leaf vac will also be out during those two weeks,” Nemetz said. “So if you have some leaves to rake up or just getting the dead grass out of your lawn.”
Nemetz says the city’s leaf vacuum program plays an important role during the seasonal transition, helping collect yard waste efficiently while also protecting local infrastructure. By removing leaves and debris from curbsides, the program helps prevent storm drains from becoming clogged.
City officials encourage residents to take advantage of the cleanup window to tidy up their properties and ensure materials are placed appropriately for collection.
More details on pickup guidelines and scheduling can be found on the City of Shawano’s website.
