Shawano Police stayed busy Tuesday with a mix of incidents across the city. Officers responded to a reported threat on South Main Street, where a tenant claimed another resident threatened them with a gun during a dispute involving a blocked emergency exit. The incident remains under investigation.
Police also handled a shoplifting case at a sporting goods store on East Green Bay Street, where two suspects reportedly stole ammunition and fled. One of the individuals was already out on bond for a prior theft.
Several welfare checks were conducted throughout the day, including a late-night call involving a potentially suicidal individual and another person described as highly intoxicated.
Officers also responded to multiple disturbances, harassment complaints, and a traffic hazard caused by blowing snow.
In addition, police assisted with medical calls, a vehicle lockout, and ongoing truancy issues at local schools.
No major injuries were reported.
Clintonville Police were busy throughout the day Tuesday responding to a wide range of calls across the city. Officers handled multiple suspicious activity complaints overnight, including calls on Wilson Street and a suspicious vehicle on South Main Street. A noise complaint was also reported in that same area.
Just before 2 a.m., crews responded to a fire on West 14th Street. Details on damage or injuries have not been released.
Throughout the day, police assisted with medical calls on 10th Street and Ginger Trace, along with a traffic hazard at Madison and Bennett Streets.
Officers also conducted extra patrols in several neighborhoods, including 9th, West, and Anne Streets.
As the day went on, police responded to an alarm on South Main Street, multiple disabled vehicles, and a number of parking enforcement complaints across the city.
The Shawano County Sheriff’s Office handled a high volume of calls Tuesday, many tied to hazardous travel conditions across the area.
Deputies responded to numerous crashes throughout the day, particularly along Highway 29, with several vehicles reported in the ditch and at least one semi involved. Multiple disabled vehicles were also reported across the county, with some drivers stranded in roadways as snow made travel difficult.
Authorities say road conditions at times were nearly impassable, with one caller reporting a vehicle stuck in the middle of the road and others needing tow assistance.
Emergency crews also handled several 911 calls, medical assists, and welfare checks, including one report of a woman possibly stranded and in distress.
In Bonduel, deputies are investigating an attempted theft where someone reportedly tried to remove parts from a vehicle overnight.
There were also reports of reckless driving, including one vehicle described as “pinballing” off snowbanks along Highway 29.
In a more serious incident, deputies responded to an animal complaint involving two dogs reportedly attacking a person in the roadway.
Later in the evening, a driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated after a vehicle was seen speeding through an intersection and ended up in a ditch.
Deputies also handled a hit-and-run crash, harassment complaints, a juvenile runaway report, and multiple alarms.
In a separate case, authorities are investigating a death on the Stockbridge-Munsee Reservation. No further details have been released.
