Bears Go Back-to-Back to Kohl Center
The Bonduel Bears boys basketball team put together a dominant 2025–26 season, finishing with an impressive 25–3 overall record and a perfect 14–0 mark in the CWC-East Conference. The Bears controlled the conference from start to finish, showcasing a balanced offense, strong rebounding, and efficient shooting that powered them through one of the best seasons in program history.
Bonduel’s offense was led by junior guard Quinn Wesenberg, who scored 525 points and averaged 19.4 points per game. Wesenberg was highly efficient, shooting 44.1% from the field, 38.8% from three-point range, and an outstanding 87.7% from the free-throw line. In addition to scoring, he contributed 101 assists and 122 rebounds, proving to be one of the team’s most versatile players.
Senior forward Ryan Westrich dominated the paint all season. Westrich finished with 470 points (17.4 PPG) while shooting an exceptional 62.4% from the field and 43.5% from three-point range. He also anchored the Bears on the boards, grabbing 274 rebounds and averaging 10.1 rebounds per game, giving Bonduel a major advantage inside.
Another key contributor was junior wing Carter Moesch, who added 331 points (12.3 PPG) while shooting 48.3% from the field and 43.3% from beyond the arc. Moesch also contributed 127 rebounds, providing scoring and energy on both ends of the floor.
The Bears’ offense was orchestrated by senior point guard Griffin Uelmen, who led the team with 103 assists (3.8 per game) and posted a strong 3.2 assist-to-turnover ratio, helping keep the offense flowing smoothly throughout the season. Junior guard Jack Zernicke also played an important role in the backcourt, adding 86 assists and steady playmaking.
Bonduel’s season featured several convincing victories, including wins over Marathon Red Raiders (78–68), Kewaunee Storm (73–62), Iola-Scandinavia Thunderbirds (70–65), Oconto Blue Devils (82–40), and Weyauwega-Fremont Warhawks (83–53).
Under the leadership of head coach Duke Copp, the Bears carried their momentum into the postseason and advanced to the Division 4 State Tournament Semifinal. Bonduel entered the semifinal with a 25–3 record and prepared to face the Cambridge Blue Jays (19-9) at the Kohl Center, marking a historic moment for the program.
With elite scoring, dominant rebounding, and strong leadership from their veteran players, the 2025–26 Bonduel Bears established themselves as one of the top Division 4 teams in Wisconsin and left a lasting mark on the program’s history.
Seymour Advances to Kohl Center; First Time Since 2011
The Seymour Thunder delivered a historic 2025–26 campaign, finishing with an outstanding 27–1 overall record and a perfect 16–0 run through the Bay Conference. Seymour dominated throughout the regular season, combining efficient offense, strong rebounding, and disciplined ball movement to establish itself as one of the top teams in Division 3.
Leading the way for the Thunder was senior standout Kyler Marks, who put together an exceptional season. Marks scored 572 points, averaging 21.2 points per game while shooting an incredible 62.2% from the field and 40.0% from three-point range. He also controlled the glass with 251 rebounds (9.3 per game), making him the team’s top scorer and rebounder while providing consistent leadership all season.
Junior forward Isaac Feske was another key offensive weapon for Seymour. Feske totaled 410 points (15.2 PPG) while shooting 55.8% from the field and 36.6% from three. He also contributed 163 rebounds (6.0 per game), giving the Thunder a reliable inside presence on both ends of the court.
Sophomore guard Jordan Krause emerged as a rising star during the season. Krause scored 307 points (11.8 PPG) and was extremely efficient from beyond the arc, hitting 47.9% of his three-point attempts. In addition to his scoring, he contributed 79 assists, showing his ability to both score and create for teammates.
The Thunder’s offense was directed by senior guard Xavier Salzman, who led the team with 119 assists (4.4 per game) while also adding 121 rebounds. His leadership and playmaking helped keep Seymour’s offense organized throughout the season. Senior guard Sam Geyso also played a crucial role in the backcourt, dishing out 101 assists (3.7 per game) while maintaining an excellent 3.4 assist-to-turnover ratio.
Seymour’s season included several impressive victories, including wins over Xavier Hawks (71–52), Freedom Irish (56–49), Wittenberg-Birnamwood Chargers (56–35), and Menominee Nation Eagles (77–36). Their only loss of the season came against Oshkosh North Spartans, but the Thunder quickly bounced back and continued their dominant run.
Under the leadership of head coach Bobby Kuchta, Seymour carried its momentum into the postseason and advanced to the Division 3 State Tournament Semifinal. The Thunder entered the semifinal matchup with a 27–1 record, set to face the Saint Croix Central Panthers (19-9) at the Kohl Center.
