GILLETT, WI – The Wisconsin Department of Transportation has launched a new 511 Wisconsin project website to provide updates and information about the upcoming reconstruction of Highway 22 in Gillett.
The project will rebuild approximately one mile of Highway 22 from Finnegan Lake Road to the Highway 22 and 32 intersection in downtown Gillett. Planned improvements include new pavement, sidewalks, storm sewer upgrades, culvert replacements, and several intersection improvements aimed at modernizing the roadway.
Construction is expected to begin this spring and continue through October, with Highway 22 closed to through traffic during the project. Detour routes will be posted to guide motorists around the construction zone.
The new website will provide updates on construction progress, traffic impacts, detour routes, and information for local businesses during the project.
