KAUKAUNA, WI – The Bonduel Bears knocked off the Kewaunee Storm 73-62 inside Kaukauna High School on Thursday night in a sectional semi-final.
It was all Kewaunee from the jump as Dane Harrell scored 6 straight points while Bonduel responded with a bucket.
After the first timeout in the 1st half, teams started trading buckets for buckets. Jack Zernicke for Bonduel stepped up in a huge way with 6 first half points.
Griffin Uelmen hit a 3 pointer at the 1st half buzzer to tie the game at 30.
After the break, it was a 13-4 run for Bonduel that got the Bears out by 10 at least before Kewaunee started fighting back with shots pouring in left and right from Connor Kilgore and Mason Kovacs.
Key rebounding in the final 5 minutes was how Bonduel got to the line and finished 69 percent from the line as a team.
Bonduel was led in scoring by Ryan Westrich with 27, Carter Moesch with 19 and Griffin Uelmen with 11.
Kewaunee was led by Diesel Bosdeck with 15, Connor Kilgore with 12 and Mason Kovacs with 11.
Bonduel advances to play Saturday March 14th against Marathon at D.C. Everest with a trip to State on the line.
