OCONTO FALLS, WI – An Oconto Falls man has been found guilty of homicide by drunken driving in connection with a crash that killed a motorcyclist in 2022. An Oconto County jury convicted 59-year-old Thomas Edward Wolf.
The charges stem from a August 3, 2022 crash that claimed the life of 60-year-old Bart Erdman of Oconto Falls. According to authorities, Wolf was driving a pickup truck south on County Road I near Beaver Lake Road when the vehicle rear-ended Erdman’s motorcycle.
Investigators say the impact sent the motorcycle into a ditch and ejected Erdman, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Court documents show a preliminary breath test measured Wolf’s blood alcohol content at .124 percent, more than one-and-a-half times the legal limit.
Wolf now faces up to 40 years in prison for each of the felony homicide charges, with a sentencing hearing expected to be scheduled at a later date.
