Shawano Police Officers made an OWI arrest shortly after 3:00 a.m. near East Richmond Street. Multiple officers responded to the scene and the driver was taken into custody on suspicion of operating while intoxicated.
Earlier in the night, police assisted a resident on South Sawyer Street who reported being kicked out of a residence and needed help retrieving personal belongings. The caller also reported a black BMX-style bike stolen from in front of a grandparents’ home.
During the afternoon, officers were called to Shawano Community High School for a juvenile-related issue, and also responded to a domestic disturbance reported on South Main Street.
Police also investigated a theft at Screaming O’s on East Green Bay Street, where a complainant reported money, possible AirPods, and trading cards taken from a vehicle earlier in the morning.
Later in the evening, a two-vehicle crash with airbags deployed was reported at East Fifth Street and Fairview Way involving a blue Nissan Rogue and a black Nissan Altima.
Officers also handled a disturbance at Memorial Park, a hit-and-run near Waukechon and East Green Bay Streets, and several medical assists throughout the day.
Clintonville Police handled a variety of calls throughout the day yesterday, with officers conducting routine patrols, responding to a welfare check, and assisting with a medical call.
During the early morning hours, officers performed a series of business checks across the city. Including South Main Street and East Third Street to ensure businesses were secure.
Extra patrols were also requested shortly before 6:30 a.m. in residential areas including 9th Street, West Street, and Anne Street.
Later in the morning, officers conducted a welfare check on West 14th Street. Police also investigated a suspicious situation reported on West Green Tree Road.
Around midday, officers responded to several service calls including an ordinance violation on 18th Street and a citizen assistance call on North Clinton Avenue. A short time later, police were dispatched to a 911 call again on West Green Tree Road.
In the afternoon, officers handled a disorderly conduct complaint on West Morning Glory Drive.
Police activity continued into the evening with a traffic stop on South Main Street at about 9:30 p.m., followed by an ambulance assist call on West Campus Drive shortly after 10 p.m.
In total, Clintonville Police handled more than 20 calls for service during the reporting period while continuing regular patrol operations throughout the city.
Shawano County law enforcement handled nearly three dozen incidents over the past day, including an overdose, a vandalism case, and several welfare checks.
Just after midnight Tuesday, sheriff’s deputies responded to a reported overdose in the 1100 block of South Evergreen Street in the City of Shawano. Authorities say the situation was investigated and the case was later closed. Additional details about the person involved were not released.
Later in the afternoon, deputies investigated a vandalism complaint in Birnamwood. According to the report, someone threw a rock through a window and spray-painted graffiti on a building in the 300 block of Railroad Street. The incident is being treated as criminal damage to property, and a citation or arrest may follow as the investigation continues.
Deputies also responded to several public safety calls throughout the county. A reckless driver was reported around 10:45 Tuesday morning on Highway 29 near County Highway U. The caller told dispatch a white Nissan Altima was driving erratically and may have been operated by someone impaired.
Authorities also performed multiple welfare checks, including one near Highway 22 and County Highway C in Cecil after a caller reported a man walking into traffic and playing “chicken” with vehicles. Another welfare check was requested in the Leopolis area after a neighbor reported lights and a television had been on inside a home for several days with no one answering the door.
Other calls handled during the day included several accidental or abandoned 911 calls, a suspicious vehicle complaint near Country Lane and Highway 22 in Cecil, and assistance requests from other agencies.
In a separate incident Tuesday night in Gresham, deputies were asked to check on a report of someone ringing a doorbell and knocking on a window at a home where children were alone.
