SHAWANO, WI- The Shawano School Board met in closed session Wednesday to further discuss staffing matters. Before entering the closed session, a motion was made to amend the agenda so the board could reconvene and adjourn in open session if a vote was needed after their discussion. That motion was voted down 4-2, as any potential vote would require at least 24 hours notice and an opportunity for public comment beforehand.
Board members stressed if any new information came out of the closed session meeting, an agenda item would be created for a vote to take place at a future meeting.
The Shawano School Board recently approved nearly $1.77 million in budget reductions for the 2026–27 school year as the district works to balance its finances.
