SHAWANO, WI – The Shawano Area United Way has announced its 2026 funding allocations, distributing $42,000 to support nonprofit organizations serving communities across Shawano County.
The United Way Board of Directors approved the allocations during a meeting on February 17 after reviewing 19 funding requests totaling more than $103,000. Officials say the available funding came from community donations made through the organization’s annual campaign as well as contributions from the CoVantage Credit Union Cares Giving Tuesday campaign.
In total, 14 organizations received funding, with representatives gathering March 2 to celebrate the awards and the community support that made them possible.
Organizations receiving funding include Big Brothers Big Sisters of Shawano County, the Boys and Girls Club of Shawano, the Community Clothes Closet, Family Services of Northeast Wisconsin, Junior Achievement of Wisconsin, Lutheran Counseling and Family Services-Shawano, Navarino Nature Center, Red River Riders, SAFPARC, the Shawano Area Food Center, the Shawano-Menominee Resiliency Coalition and Rise Wellness Recovery Center, St. Michael’s Food Pantry of Keshena, The F.R.E.S.H. Project, and WAMSCO.
United Way officials say each funding decision was based on how closely programs align with the organization’s mission, the level of community need, and the potential impact on local residents. More information about the supported programs and projects can be found on the Shawano Area United Way website.
