WAUPACA, WI – Renovation work at the Waupaca County Courthouse continues to move forward, with another key transition planned later this year. Maintenance Director Ron Hansen says crews are targeting August for the next phase of the multi-stage construction project.
“We’re kind of looking at August of this year. Everything is on schedule with what we had planned,” Hansen said.
Beginning in August, courthouse operations will shift to the east side of the building while construction crews begin work on the west side. The move marks a significant step in the ongoing renovation effort designed to modernize and upgrade the 35-year-old facility.
Hansen emphasized that the project is focused on long-term sustainability. “To make this building sustainable for another 40 years. And the big portion of that is the infrastructure with the HVAC and plumbing and electrical and all that,” he explained.
Originally built in 1989, the courthouse is undergoing extensive updates to critical systems and interior spaces. County officials say the full renovation and remodeling project remains on track for completion in 2027.
