SHAWANO, WI – High school students who need to make up credits this summer will have a structured opportunity to stay on track for graduation. Associate High School Principal Deanna Arrowood says the district has built its summer school program specifically to support students who have failed a class and need credit recovery.
“We have set up for our high schoolers that have failed a class to recover that credit so that they can stay on track to graduate,” Arrowood explained.
Due to ongoing referendum construction projects, summer classes for Shawano High School will be held at the middle school building. District officials say the temporary move will ensure students have a safe and uninterrupted learning environment while work continues at the high school.
Arrowood also noted that summer school will operate on a modified weekly schedule, running Monday through Thursday. School leaders say the condensed schedule is designed to provide flexibility while still giving students the time and support needed to successfully complete their coursework and remain on pace for graduation.
