NORTHEAST WISCONSIN – Governor Tony Evers and the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development have announced new Commercial Driver Training grants that will support workforce development efforts in Marathon and Outagamie Counties.
Northcentral Technical College in Marathon County has been awarded $30,000 to provide Class A Commercial Driver’s License training for 30 individuals. Meanwhile, Fox Valley Technical College in Outagamie County will receive nearly $29,000 to train 28 future commercial drivers.
The local awards are part of a $250,000 statewide investment aimed at strengthening Wisconsin’s commercial driver workforce. State officials say the funding will help address ongoing demand for truck drivers, school bus drivers, delivery drivers, and other positions that require a CDL.
Leaders say the program helps offset training costs, making it more affordable for residents to pursue high-demand careers while helping employers fill critical transportation roles across the state.
