SEYMOUR, WI – A longtime summer tradition in the Home of the Hamburger is getting a seasonal shift this year.
Seymour’s Burger Fest will move from its traditional early August timeframe to September 19th, as organizers work through changes within the festival’s leadership. Amy Heindl, secretary of the Home of the Hamburger Board, says the board has shrunk from a full roster last year to just three active members, making it more challenging to organize a large, multi-day summer event.
Heindl says there were also scheduling conflicts with other regional events in early August, prompting the decision to move the festival to the fall. Despite the new date, she says the heart of Burger Fest will remain the same, celebrating Seymour’s rural heritage and strong community pride.
Organizers are planning to incorporate fall-themed elements, including pumpkins and seasonal activities, along with Wisconsin breweries and additional family-friendly attractions. Heindl says the board hopes to eventually grow Burger Fest back into a multi-day celebration in the future as participation and planning support increase.
