Shawano Police Officers just after 1 a.m., responded to a vehicle lockout at 427 South Franklin Street. The caller reported a grey Nissan running with no one inside. An officer arrived within minutes and the situation was resolved without further incident.
Around 2 a.m., officers conducted routine building checks at several downtown establishments, including Off The Rails Pub on East Green Bay Street, Sharon’s Bar on South Washington Street, and Ole Town Tap on North Main Street. No major issues were reported during those checks.
At 2:30 a.m., an officer checked on a suspicious situation in the 300 block of South Sawyer Street, making contact with a male subject before clearing the scene.
Later in the morning, officers responded to a report of a man allegedly intoxicated and harassing a guest at the AmeriVu Inn and Suites on Waukechon Street. The individual was reportedly walking toward Mountain Bay Trail near Memorial Park. Officers investigated.
Police also conducted a welfare check on South Smalley Street after concerns were raised about a man in his 80s who had reportedly locked himself out of his home.
The day concluded with a harassment complaint taken at the police department lobby.
Clintonville Police were busy responding to a wide range of calls across the city.
Officers assisted with a mutual aid call on Highway 156 around 1:30 a.m. followed by an ambulance call on 15th Street shortly before 2:30 a.m. During the early morning hours, police conducted multiple business checks on Commercial Avenue, Summer Street, Autumn Street, South Main Street, and East 3rd Street.
Extra patrols were logged at West Street and Anne Street around 6 a.m., and officers later checked on an open door on West Madison Street.
Several traffic stops were conducted during the day, including at West Madison and Bennett, South Main and 11th Street, Highway 22 and Commercial Avenue, and 8th Street and South Clinton Avenue.
Police also responded to ambulance calls on Hillcrest Court and West Morning Glory Drive, and handled vehicle lockouts on West 14th Street and Wilson Street.
Afternoon extra patrols included Pickerel Point Playground and Picnic Point. The day concluded with additional business checks on County Highway I and Highway 45.
The Shawano County Sheriff’s Office responded to a busy mix of traffic, criminal, and welfare-related calls.
Just after 3:30 a.m., deputies arrested a 42-year-old Wittenberg Man for Operating While Intoxicated after he was found passed out in a dark-colored Ford pickup on the eastbound Highway 29 ramp at Exit 195 near Highway 45.
Around the same time, deputies responded to a reported traffic hazard on Lake Drive near North Shore Lane in the Town of Wescott. A large pothole reportedly damaged a vehicle rim, and the highway department was notified. Earlier, a deer had to be dispatched on Highway 47 near South Highline Road.
Around 8:30 a.m., deputies investigated a personal injury crash on Redwood Drive in Pulaski. Later in the morning in Tigerton, a 2013 GMC Terrain was reported vandalized with tires slashed. A suspect was cited in that case.
Deputies also handled a reported scam in Cecil involving a suspicious census-style mailing requesting financial information.
Throughout the afternoon and evening, deputies conducted several welfare checks, including one involving concerns about a possibly intoxicated driver on Shawano Lake.
In the evening hours, authorities responded to reckless driving complaints near Marion and Bowler, along with multiple alarms at the Dollar General in Cecil.
Meanwhile, Stockbridge-Munsee Police handled two property damage crashes on County Highway A, including one where a vehicle struck a high-voltage power line. No injuries were reported.
