Shawano Police were busy Wednesday responding to a series of calls Around 1:30 a.m., officers were sent to a home in the 200 block of East Center Street after a caller reported someone knocking on the door for an extended period of time. The caller told dispatch she could not see how many people were outside. Officers checked the area and identified a suspect who was reportedly not welcome at the residence. No further issues were reported and the situation was resolved.
Around 4:30 a.m., police responded to an abandoned 911 call near West Fifth Street. Officers made contact with the caller, who stated the call was accidental.
Police also assisted with several medical calls during the morning hours, including welfare checks and ambulance assists at multiple locations in the city.
In the afternoon, officers arrested a 29-year-old man following a disturbance at an apartment on South Andrews Street. Police say the man was intoxicated and taken into custody for disorderly conduct after reportedly pounding on windows and causing a disturbance.
Additional calls Wednesday included a two-vehicle crash with no injuries at County Road B and South Evergreen Street, reports of stray dogs that were taken to the humane society, and a vehicle lockout.
Clintonville Police conducted proactive patrols and responding to a variety of calls across the city yesterday.
Officers performed multiple early morning business checks along South Main Street, North Main Street, and East Green Tree Road around 3:15 a.m. Extra patrol was logged on Anne Street at 6 a.m., followed by a school extra patrol detail on West Green Tree Road just after 8 a.m.
Police responded to a 911 call on West Green Tree Road shortly before 10:30 a.m. Other late-morning activity included a lost and found report on 6th Street and an ordinance violation on Stewart Street.
In the afternoon, officers investigated a theft on South Main Street and checked on an open door on Lincoln Avenue. Evening calls included a harassment complaint on 9th Street, an agency assist on East 14th Street, a traffic stop at Highway 45 and Hilltop Road, and a civil complaint on West Morning Glory Drive.
The Shawano County Sheriff’s Office responded to 28 incidents across the county yesterday ranging from traffic hazards to criminal investigations.
The day began just after 1 a.m. when a deputy took a littering complaint on Oak Road after someone dumped a couch in a parking lot. County Parks was notified for removal.
In Cecil, deputies handled a parking problem involving a fishing shack left on the road for two days. A harassment complaint was also reported in Wittenberg, where a woman said her estranged husband continued contacting her despite separation.
At the Shawano County Courthouse, deputies responded to two separate security matters during the morning. Around 8:40 a.m., authorities investigated a serious threatening complaint involving Probation and Parole in Shawano. The case remains active.
Mid-morning activity included a suspicious vehicle complaint in Bonduel and a warrant arrest near Airport Lane in Shawano. Deputies also responded to two non-reportable crashes, including one at County Trunk C and Beech Drive, and another along Red River Road.
A $2,500 credit card fraud was reported on Lake Drive, and a disturbance call came in from East Green Bay Street in Bonduel.
Afternoon and evening calls included a protective custody transport, a welfare check along Highway 45 near Aniwa involving a pedestrian walking with traffic, multiple traffic hazards including debris and a struck deer on Highway 29, and a disabled vehicle near Clark Drive.
