NEW LONDON, WI – A School District of New London employee was arrested after police conducted a K9 drug search in the parking lot of Lincoln Elementary on Thursday, February 12.
According to the New London Police Department, officers carried out the search as part of an investigation, and a police K9 alerted to a vehicle in the parking lot. Authorities then contacted the vehicle’s registered owner, who is an employee of the school district.
Police say the employee was found in possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia. The individual was taken into custody and transported to the Waupaca County Jail on charges of possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Officials say the New London Police Department worked with the School District of New London to notify parents, guardians, and staff members who were directly affected by the incident.
The case remains under investigation, and police say no additional information is being released at this time.
