Shawano Police responded to a wide range of calls throughout the day Yesterday, February 15th and into early morning February 16th. Officers handled several civil disputes, including neighbor complaints on East Maurer Street and South Union Street involving property access and alleged harassment. Police also assisted with a standby request so a resident could safely retrieve personal belongings.
A welfare check was conducted on Prospect Circle after a caller reported concerns about her fiancé’s wellbeing. Officers made contact at the residence.
Police responded to a threatening complaint at Shawano Square Apartments on East Richmond Street, where a woman reported feeling unsafe following a disturbance.
Late Sunday night, officers assisted other law enforcement agencies after a vehicle was reported traveling more than 100 miles per hour near Highway 47-55 and Curt Black Road.
Other calls included a vehicle lockout, excessive barking dogs on West Swan Street, suspicious activity on Northridge Drive, and a 911 open line on East Green Bay Street.
Just after midnight today, officers responded to a trespassing complaint at the AmeriVu Inn and Suites.
The Clintonville Police Department responded to a variety of calls. The morning began with an ambulance assist on 6th Street just after 5:00 a.m., followed by extra patrol requests on Anne Street at 6:00 and again at 6:30. Another ambulance call was reported shortly after 8:15 on McKinley Avenue.
Officers conducted a pair of traffic stops during the afternoon — one at Highway 45 and County Highway C around 12:30 p.m., and another at Highway 22 and Meadow Lane just before 3:40.
Early evening activity included an animal nuisance complaint near Robert and Grant Streets just after 6:00. Around 7:30, police assisted on an ambulance call on 7th Street.
At 7:52 p.m., officers responded to a threatening complaint on East Morning Glory Drive. Later in the evening, a welfare check was conducted on East 12th Street at approximately 10:10 p.m.
The Shawano County Sheriff’s Office handled 29 incidents across the county. The day began just before 1:00 a.m. with a vehicle lockout at the Sandbar on Resort Road. Around 2:30 a.m., a traffic stop in Gresham led to an operating-after-revocation arrest. Minutes later, deputies responded to a report of an intoxicated person on County Highway T.
Several 911 calls were reported throughout the morning, including abandoned and open-line calls in the Birnamwood, Tigerton, and Shawano areas. At 9:00 a.m., criminal damage was reported at the Shawano County Jail after a kiosk in the booking area was broken. A disorderly conduct complaint involving the same individual was later reported at the jail.
Icy conditions contributed to a property-damage crash at Roosevelt Road and South Schmidt Road just after 11:00 a.m. Deputies also responded to reckless driving on County Highway R and later near Highway 29.
Other calls included littering complaints in Cecil involving dumped deer carcasses, a suspicious incident at Golden Sands Golf Course, multiple ambulance assists, a welfare check in Cecil after concerns about a man not being seen for days, and reports of suspicious vehicles and high-speed traffic, including a vehicle reportedly exceeding 100 miles per hour near Highways 47 and 55.
