Shawano Police were kept busy throughout the day yesterday with a wide range of calls. Officers responded to a suspicious person complaint just after 2 a.m. near East Green Bay and Waukechon Streets. Later in the morning, police investigated a criminal damage complaint at The Stock Market on South Main Street after a vehicle’s rear windshield was shattered in the parking lot. No injuries were reported.
A panic alarm at a cash store on East Green Bay Street also brought multiple officers to the scene. The situation was resolved without incident.
Around 10:20 a.m., officers handled a disorderly conduct complaint on East Green Bay Street, followed shortly by a brief fleeing incident near Randall and Lincoln Streets.
Police also made a warrant arrest on East Richmond Street Tuesday afternoon. Additional calls included harassment, a domestic disturbance, a traffic hazard involving nails in the roadway near Lincoln Street, and a threatening complaint at the AmeriVu Inn and Suites.
The Clintonville Police Department had a mix of patrol and emergency calls. Officers conducted a series of early morning business checks on West Madison Street, 11th Street, East 12th Street, 9th Street, and North Park Street. An open door was reported on South Main Street just before 4 a.m., and extra patrol was requested in the Anne Street area.
Police assisted with an ambulance call on East Madison Street shortly after 6:30 a.m., and conducted school extra patrol on South Clinton Avenue.
During the afternoon, officers made a traffic stop on West Madison Street and later arrested a driver for operating while intoxicated at South Main Street and Campus Drive.
Evening calls included a 911 report on Spring Street, ambulance responses on South Main and West Campus Drive, and mutual aid calls at East Main and Palmer Road and at Highways 45 and 22.
The day concluded with officers responding to a domestic disturbance on North Clinton Avenue.
The Shawano County Sheriff’s Office responded to incidents ranging from impaired driving arrests to crashes and traffic hazards across the county. Just after midnight, a deputy arrested a driver for Operating While Intoxicated near Western Avenue and Highway 45 in Birnamwood. A second OWI arrest occurred shortly after 9:30 p.m. near Julius Street and Largo Lane in Krakow.
Early morning calls included assisting fire crews on Red River Road in Birnamwood and responding to a traffic hazard on Highway 29 after a dead deer was reported in the passing lane westbound near Maple Avenue.
Deputies also handled multiple disabled vehicles throughout the day, including incidents on Highway 29, Highway 47-55, and near Alpine Drive in Shawano. One evening crash involved a vehicle in the ditch on County Highway M, while another driver struck an air pump at a gas station near Highway 22 and Highway 29.
Authorities investigated a reckless driving complaint along Highway 29 near mile marker 200 and responded to a traffic violation involving a vehicle passing a school bus with its stop arm extended in Tigerton.
Additional calls included several inmate transports, courthouse security details in Shawano, community policing activity at Tigerton High School, and a vehicle that struck an animal near Fink Road.
