SHAWANO, WI – Members of the Shawano FFA chapter are building momentum this winter after attending leadership conferences in Stevens Point and kicking off a packed February schedule.
Chapter member Khaos Danielson says the workshops in Stevens Point provided meaningful growth opportunities for students. He explained that members focused on leadership development, teamwork skills, and learning how to properly complete applications, an important step for scholarships, awards, and future opportunities within FFA.
“They kind of went to workshops that were supposed to show us leadership and how to work as teams and properly fill out applications because it’s very important,” Danielson said.
Now, with February in full swing, the chapter’s calendar is filling up quickly. Kenley Kelliher says activities are already underway, including a recent farm forum conference attended by four juniors from Shawano High School.
“We have four juniors from our high school going to a farm forum conference, so they’ll learn about agriculture experiences and careers,” Kelliher said.
Kelliher added that FFA Week celebrations, Leadership Development Events, and several workshops will keep members busy throughout the month as they prepare for upcoming state competitions and local events. Chapter leaders say the combination of conferences, competitions, and hands-on experiences continues to strengthen both the skills and confidence of Shawano FFA members.
