NORTHEAST WISCONSIN – Construction work on U.S. Highway 141 in Marinette and Oconto counties has been moved up to 2027 as state officials work to improve safety and roadway conditions sooner than originally planned. The Wisconsin Department of Transportation says the project will address frost heave issues, resurface deteriorating pavement, and replace culverts along more than eight miles of highway.
Work is scheduled to take place between Highway 22 and Highway 64, as well as between County C in Wausaukee and County K in the town of Amberg. Crews will repair damaged pavement, replace guardrail sections, and upgrade culverts to improve long-term performance and drainage.
Officials say traffic is expected to remain open during construction using flagging operations. By advancing the project to 2027, WisDOT says motorists will benefit sooner from improved safety, smoother pavement, and enhanced durability along the corridor.
