Ruthann M. Buelow, age 86 of Shawano, passed away peacefully on Wednesday evening, February 4, 2026 surrounded by her family.
Ruthann Margaret Schwenke was born on January 8, 1940 in the Town of Larrabee, just outside of Clintonville as the daughter of the late Walter and Margaret (Kautz) Schwenke. Ruthann graduated from Clintonville High School with the Class of 1957 and was united in marriage to Donald Buelow on September 6, 1958 at St. Peter Pella Opening Church. Ruthann started working in the banking industry even during high school and continued after high school with First National Bank in Clintonville. She then got into the processing part of banking and worked at the Clintonville Computer Center until its closing. She then worked for a number of other banks and retired from Premier Bank in Bonduel. While living in the Clintonville area, Ruthann and Don were members of St. Martin Lutheran Church in Clintonville where Ruthann was a member of the Ladies Aid and taught both Sunday and Wednesday School for the church. In the 1990s, the couple then moved to Shawano where they became members of St. James Lutheran Church. Always active, Ruthann loved to golf and even earned the title of Women’s Champion at Riverside Golf Course in Clintonville. She also enjoyed bowling, curling, and playing softball. Ruthann and Don also enjoyed getting together with friends and family for their weekly card games. Ruthann was a fan and season ticket holder of the Green Bay Packers and a member of the Clintonville VFW Auxiliary. Although she often seemed quiet, she definitely knew when to add the right joke at the right time to keep family and friends on their toes.

Her Children: Sandy (Philip) Bangert, Jeff (Cheri) Buelow, and Teresa (Ben) Piering, Laurie (Steve) Buelow-Wolf.
Grandchildren: Justin (Amanda) Bangert, Katie Bangert, Mikalah (Danny) Fallon, Makenzie (Jake) Kastner, Mariah (Joe) Gagliardi, and Dylan Buelow.
Great-Grandchildren: Grace, A.J., Emmy, Wes, Sadie, Caden, Lucas, Micah, Declan, Elias, Maximus, and another on the way.
Sister-in-law: Dianne Buelow.
Also numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Ruthann was preceded in death by her parents Walter and Margaret Schwenke, her husband Donald Buelow, a brother Don (Elverna) Schwenke, and sisters Joan (Calvin) Klevesahl and Dorie (Henry) Steenbock.
Ruthann’s memorial service will be held at 11am on Saturday, February 14, 2026 at St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano with Rev. David Kaiser and her grandson, Rev. Justin Bangert officiating. Inurnment will take place at Graceland Cemetery in Clintonville. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday, February 14, 2026 from 9am until the time of the service.
