BONDUEL, WI – It was the Quinn Wesenberg Show inside the Bear Den on Tuesday Night as the Bonduel Bears pulled away in the 2nd half to win 86-61 over the visiting Menominee Nation Eagles.
In the first half, teams were trading shot for shot as there was no stoppage in the game until 6:48 left in the 1st half. It was 29-23 Bonduel with that first stoppage then a quick 5-0 run by the Menominee Nation Eagles made it 29-28.
The exchange of shots would continue for both teams as it was 43-38 at the break with Bonduel leading.
An 11-0 run out of the break by the Bears would put it at 54-38 with 15:43 left in the game and the Eagles would not be able to mount the comeback as Bonduel continued to ride the rest of the game off of the hot shooting of Quinn Wesenberg.
Wesenberg also got his 1,000th career point as well in the conference victory.
Leaders for Bonduel were Quinn Wesenberg with 33 points, Carter Moesch with 18 and Ryan Westrich with 17.
Leaders for Menominee Nation were Ryan Corn with 21, Kenew Awonohopay with 17 and Anik Corn with 10.
With the win, Bonduel improved to 15-3 overall and 10-0 in the conference. Menominee Nation dropped to 11-8 overall and 5-5 in the conference.
Bonduel’s next game will be Friday (2/6) at Shiocton.
Menominee Nation’s next game will be Friday (2/6) at home vs
Iola-Scandinavia.
