WAUPACA, WI – The City of Waupaca has received a major boost for its small business community, securing a $250,000 grant through the state’s Small Business Development Grant Program. Jeff Mikorski with the Waupaca County Economic Development Corporation says the funding will provide meaningful, long-term support for local entrepreneurs looking to strengthen or expand their operations.
Mikorski says the grant is designed to help businesses make essential improvements to their buildings, whether structural upgrades, safety enhancements, or energy-efficiency updates and many local businesses have already begun applying. “This year we received $250,000 through the state small business development grant program that allows us to provide grant funds to businesses in Waupaca County,” Mikorski said. “Where businesses needed to make improvements to their buildings, whether it be structural, safety, or energy efficiency, we were able to help them.”
Applications are still open, and business owners are encouraged to apply through the Waupaca County Economic Development website. Mikorski says the interest so far shows how valuable the grant will be in helping local businesses grow, adapt, and remain competitive.
