
June E. Mavis, age 89 of New London, passed away Thursday evening, December 18, 2025 at her home.
June Emma Mavis was born May 9, 1936 in the Town of Dupont, Waupaca County, daughter to the late Glen & Gladys (Hornburg) McKay. She graduated from Iola High School and started working for the Clintonville Hospital. June was united in marriage to Milton Mavis on April 10, 1964 at Christus Lutheran Church, Clintonville. She then moved to Kaukauna where she worked as a medical secretary in the office of Dr. Alan Cherkasky for many years; after which, June worked as a staff member with County Oaks Nursing Home, Kimberly for over 30 years until her retirement. During her retirement, she worked part-time as an in-home care-giver with Home Instead. June loved to go fishing for pan-fish whenever she got the chance, and cherished the time spent with family at their permanent site at Pine Grove Campground, Gresham. She enjoyed the Manawa Rodeo, and loved to watch her daughter, Tammie, compete in barrel racing. She never missed an opportunity to visit with friends at the Big Falls Corn Roast. June also loved taking care of her horses and cuddling all of her canine companions over the years. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
June is survived by her loving husband, Milton

Sons: George Mavis, Jeff Mavis, Dennis (Wendy) Damrau, & Kevin (Lisa) Damrau
16 grandchildren & 17 great-grandchildren, with another one on the way
Sister: Beverly (Glen) Copus
June was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Nikki Hale; brother, Marvin McKay; & sons-in-law, Ronald Stuber & Steven Hale.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM on Monday, December 29, 2025 at the Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home, North Location (53 N. Main St. Clintonville) with the Rev. Diana Ziegler officiating. Interment will take place at Big Falls Cemetery following the service.
Visitation will take place on Monday at the funeral home from 10 AM until the time of service.
