Shawano Police were kept busy Sunday, December 14th, responding to a wide range of calls across the city. Early in the morning, officers were called to a fitness facility on East Green Bay Street after a report of a suspicious person attempting to enter the building. Officers checked the area and cleared the scene.
Police also handled multiple noise complaints and welfare checks throughout the day, including concerns for individuals who were not answering doors or were seen walking along roadways in cold conditions.
Several animal-related calls were reported, including a stray dog running loose downtown and a dog bite incident that brought officers to ThedaCare Medical Center.
Officers also responded to a hit-and-run report at a South Main Street business, along with several disturbance calls at residences and public locations.
Additional calls included vehicle lockouts, suspicious vehicles near closing businesses, and multiple requests for general assistance.
Shawano Police say many of the incidents were resolved without arrests, and officers remind residents to report suspicious activity promptly to help keep the community safe.
Clintonville Police responded to several calls throughout the day Sunday, with officers focusing on patrols, public assistance, and medical calls.
During the early morning hours, officers conducted extra patrols at multiple locations, including the Pigeon Lake Boat Launch at Pickerel Point, Picnic Point, County Highway I, and residential areas along Anne Street and 20th Street. These patrols were part of routine checks to maintain public safety and deter potential issues.
Just before eight Sunday morning, officers provided citizen assistance on Rohrer Street, helping resolve a non-emergency situation.
Late in the morning, police responded to an ambulance call on East 14th Street, where emergency medical personnel were requested. No additional details were released.
Later in the evening, officers were called to a family-related incident on East Morning Glory Drive. The situation was addressed, and no ongoing threat to the public was reported.

Shawano County Sheriff’s officials were kept busy throughout the day Sunday responding to a wide range of calls, many involving hazardous driving conditions and multiple vehicle incidents.
Deputies handled numerous traffic-related incidents along Highway 29, including reports of reckless driving, traffic hazards, and several crashes. Just after midnight, authorities were alerted to a wrong-way driver traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes of Highway 29, moving at reduced speed. The situation was monitored, and no injuries were reported.
There were multiple deer-related crashes throughout the county, including incidents near Wittenberg, Bowler, Pulaski, and Shawano. In several cases, injured deer were reported still alive near the roadway, requiring deputies to respond for public safety and traffic control.
Deputies also responded to disabled vehicles, debris in roadways, and traffic hazards, including a mattress blocking eastbound lanes of Highway 29 near an exit ramp, creating a dangerous situation for motorists.
Sunday afternoon and evening brought several disturbance calls, including reports from a casino property and residential locations. Alcohol was reported to be a factor in some of those incidents.
Later in the evening, deputies responded to an assault at the Shawano County Jail, where a victim sustained a bite injury to the shoulder. The incident remains under investigation.
Emergency responders also assisted with a 911 call triggered by an Apple Watch alert, reporting that the wearer had taken a hard fall. Deputies checked on the individual to ensure their safety.
Animal-related calls rounded out the night, including reports of a stray dog and additional sick or injured wildlife.
