Witt-Birn set the tone early, taking a 35-0 lead into halftime while holding the Chiefs without a field goal until the second half. Senior leaders Rory Salvesen and Melaina Granquist powered the Chargers’ offense, Salvesen scored a game-high 17 points with seven steals, while Granquist added 16 points and 13 rebounds for a double-double. Junior Ava Brei chipped in eight points, going a perfect 2-for-2 from the floor and 4-of-6 from the free-throw line.
Despite the loss, Shiocton’s Kayley Carpenter battled on the boards, pulling down eight rebounds, including five offensive. Freshman Natalie Young scored the Chiefs’ lone points, hitting a three in the second half.
Wittenberg-Birnamwood forced 36 turnovers and racked up 25 steals, overwhelming Shiocton on both ends while continuing their perfect start to the season.
