SHAWANO, WI- Shawano used a strong second half and free throws to hold off New London, earning a 60-52 win on Tuesday. The Hawks jumped out to an early lead, and lead by as much as 12. Maci Beyer got the game going with the first 8 points, and Leah Nordin and Jadyn Brown took over the second half. Nordin ended the night with 20 points and Brown had 17, including a 9 of 12 night from the free throw line.
New London got into foul trouble early, forcing Coach Cody Clark to go to his bench. The Bulldogs were able to battle back midway through the second half, but Shawano free throws sealed the win.
The Hawks were 18 of 31 from the line and 8 of 21 from behind the arc. New London made 10 three point shots.
Morgan Jones had 13 points and Chesney Magolski had 11. Shawano got 10 points from Maci Beyer and 7 points from Anna Dreier.
