Young Wolves Look to Grow Quickly Under First-Year Coach
The Manawa High School Girls Basketball Preview Spotlight is presented by Bay Bank with locations in Keshena and Green Bay.
Manawa enters the season with a fresh roster after graduating six players, giving first-year head coach Tony Alioto a completely new group to build from the ground up. The Wolves feature six juniors on varsity, and Alioto says the focus is on getting them to play together. The team’s top returner is Abby Elmhorst, who averaged 9.6 points per game and returns as captain. Alioto calls her “an outstanding leader” who keeps the team organized on the floor. Manawa also adds cross-country standout Lillian Klatt, whose endurance and pace could make her a strong asset on the court. With a young roster and plenty of room to grow, the Wolves appear to be a developing team with upside in the CWC East.
