CLINTONVILLE, WI – The Clintonville School District is highlighting a month of strong community support as it prepares to roll out a districtwide survey aimed at gathering public input on future planning and financial strategy.
Over the past several weeks, the district has received a series of donations benefiting classrooms, student programs, and essential services. More than 1,000 board feet of lumber will support high school woodshop classes, while a $2,000 donation from an anonymous donor will assist the girls’ soccer program. The district also accepted over $1,000 from Farm Technology Days proceeds, raised through student-built garden benches sold at last summer’s event.
At Clintonville Elementary School, the snack pantry saw substantial support, including a refrigerator and string cheese donations. Additional support at the high school included a $100 Harbor Freight donation for tools and a $200 memorial contribution to help students in need within the food service fund.
District leaders expressed gratitude for the widespread community involvement, noting the impact these contributions will have on students across all grade levels.
As donations continue to strengthen day-to-day operations, the district is also looking ahead. Community survey packets are expected to arrive in mailboxes this week. To help residents prepare, the district has released a walkthrough video and created a dedicated webpage offering additional information and clarifications.
One key clarification centers on the 2020 referendum. While early discussions focused on building a new elementary school, district officials explained that the final plan shifted toward constructing a new middle school and renovating the former middle school into the current elementary school, achieving cost savings and consolidating staff and services.
The district also addressed its financial strategy, including the approach of using tax dollars to pay off additional debt. Officials say this method increases state aid and reduces long-term interest costs, ultimately lowering the tax burden for local residents.
Residents are encouraged to review the video, explore the updated webpage, and participate in the survey as the district continues planning for its future. More information and updates will be posted online as they become available.
