Shawano Police Department reported Officers responded to a variety of calls throughout the day. Officers investigated several animal noise complaints, welfare checks, and several assists to medical and fire crews.
Around five a.m., police were called to South Sawyer Street after a complaint of a dog barking nonstop. Officers confirmed the owner was away, and the matter was referred to the community service officer for follow-up.
Later in the morning, police assisted a woman at 134 South Main Street who needed help jump-starting her car. Around one p.m., a carbon monoxide alarm went off at home on Richmond Court. Fire crews were called, but no dangerous levels were found.
In the early afternoon, officers investigated a theft report from a man who claimed his ex-girlfriend accessed his bank account while he was in jail, taking about three thousand dollars. That case remains under investigation.
Other calls included a missing person report, a lockout on Estates Lane, and a recovered motorcycle found in a backyard on South Union Street.
In the evening, officers handled a car-versus-deer crash on Highway 29, a harassment complaint on South Sawyer Street, and a welfare check on South Washington Street after reports of screaming inside a home. Police also checked out a suspicious person on East Zingler Avenue late Sunday night.
And just after 2 a.m. Monday, officers assisted jail staff with a restraint situation involving an unruly inmate. No major injuries were reported.
Clintonville police handled a variety of calls Yesterday. Officers responded to a medical emergency on 10th Street, along with a report of an animal problem near Garfield Avenue and Wilson Street. A disabled vehicle was also found in that same area later in the day.
Police assisted another agency with mutual aid on Highway 45 at Lakeshore Road and checked on a suspicious situation reported along West First Street.
Throughout the evening, officers conducted traffic stops on Highway 45, South Main Street, and Camelia Avenue, and later conducted a welfare check on Anne Street to ensure someone’s safety.
Shawano County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to nearly thirty calls across the county yesterday, ranging from traffic crashes to thefts and disturbances.
Just before 3 a.m., a driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated near Oak and Maple Avenue in Shawano. Around 11 a.m., crews were called to County N and Bluebird Road for a two-vehicle crash with injuries. That accident also brought assistance from the Stockbridge-Munsee Police Department.
Deputies also handled a noise complaint in Birnamwood, several 9-1-1 hang-ups, and multiple deer-related crashes as rut season continues across the area.
In Wittenberg, a disturbance was reported at the Sentry Foods after a customer became disorderly with employees. Later in Shawano, officers investigated a theft complaint involving a resident who said his ex-girlfriend accessed his bank account while he was incarcerated.
A reckless-driving complaint came in from Highway 29 near Tigerton, and deputies also checked on an alarm at a business on East Green Bay Street in Shawano, which turned out to be secure.
